I really like the panoramic format. When you become aware of how we see, we realize that our field of view is quite wide. When we are looking at a horizon, even though it does include much of the sky, the majority of the sky is not in focus. The best way for me to convey the horizontal expanse and bring focus to our normal field of view and to what is most important in an expansive composition, is to use the panoramic format. Occasionally I will stitch several vertical images together but since I shoot in medium format for my panos I have more than enough resolution to print any of these images 44" x 15'.
